Congratulations to the 2025 Dr. M. Marlene Godoy Fellowship Recipients!
The Center for Integrative Movement Sciences (CIMS) is excited to announce the recipients of the 2025 Dr. M. Marlene Godoy Fellowship in Movement Sciences, a competitive summer research award supporting outstanding undergraduate researchers at UC Irvine.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Dr. M. Marlene Godoy for her generous support, which makes this fellowship possible and empowers the next generation of movement science researchers.
This prestigious fellowship provides a stipend to students engaging in intensive research in movement physiology, biomechanics, exercise science, or related fields. Awardees will gain hands-on research experience under the guidance of a CIMS faculty affiliate, contributing to innovative projects that expand our understanding of human movement and health. You can learn more about the fellowship here.
Please join us in congratulating the 2025 awardees and celebrating their exciting research endeavors:
Connor Coscolluela (Bio Sci): Connor will work with Dr. Manny Azizi to characterize muscle properties in muscles from mice with spinal and bulbar muscular atrophy (SBMA) and the effects of gene therapy on these muscle properties.
Justin Quan (Mech Eng): Justin will work with Dr. Sasha Voloshina, investigating how experience of different difficulty and error rates influence learning rates in humans during balance control tasks.
