Dr. Monica Daley to Deliver Dean’s Distinguished Lecture | October 20
We are excited to share that Monica Daley, Ph.D., Professor in the Department of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology and Director of the Center for Integrative Movement Sciences (CIMS) and the NSF-BII Integrative Movement Sciences Institute (IMSI), has been selected to deliver the Fall 2026 Dean’s Distinguished Lecture at the Charlie Dunlop School of Biological Sciences.
“Mysteries of Muscle and Movement: From Molecular Motors to Lifelong Mobility”
- Tuesday, October 20, 2026 | Talk & Q&A: 4:00–5:00 p.m. | Reception: 5:00–6:00 p.m.
- Crystal Cove Auditorium, UCI Student Center, 311 West Peltason Drive, Irvine (in-person only)
Dr. Daley’s research examines how muscles, tendons, skeletal mechanics, and neural circuits work together to enable agile, stable, and economical movement. She directs a nationwide interdisciplinary team working across scales (from the molecular machinery of muscle contraction to human movement through complex environments) with the goal of translating foundational biology into clinical and technological innovations that support lifelong mobility.
This event is free and open to the public. Food will be provided at the reception.
